We recently went back to the roots of the lunch club and decided to bring our wine tasting events back to life! We originally started the wine tasting back in 2000 at piano piano and moved it around but never got the quality, quantity and the same ambience we originally had with tommy and marina! Sooo we thought we would try another which was a HUGE! Success in fact we are taking reservations to well out again next month!!!! So we started the day over in Vanilla for some well priced pre lunch drinks around 12.30.
The service and price here is fantastic. We was all hungry and we headed over to Calle Casa Blanca, Piano Piano for our 2pm wine tasting reservation! We had name position on the brochure with more in depth information about the wines which was a fantastic idea!!! We was seated in tables of 4 people we all got cosy with some nice back ground music, we find noisy music didnt fit with us on previous events as we are here to socialise and have the craic!
The first wine came out which was a fantastic white wine! Now some places give you a sip of wine!! We got each table a bottle of wine delivered and poured and we got a personal explanation of the wines and first dish plus we could ask direct questions! So four glasses poured BIG glasses i should add and the rest of the bottle went on the table to top up!!! We was like wow the real deal!!
As we finished the first dish the second wine and dish was delivered seamlessly and again the same with the new wine which was a stunning italian red and the italian food is absolutely amazing!!
So we moved to the last bottle of red and this was one big italian red bottle which went round the room paired up with porchetta and some amazing roast potatoes 👌
Tommy left the remains of the big bottle on the table for us so we dusted that!!!!
We all finished up and we raised a glass to one our lunch club members we sadly lost malcom. Rest in peace our lunch club friend.
We was ready to move on so we had one of piano piano Limoncello before thanking tommy and marina.
I have to say the lunch club highly praised this event and can say we definitely would say this is the best wine tasting event we have done! I looked around the room and every one was having a fantastic time talking and enjoying the food and wine the ambience was perfect!!! So we are running this next month! If you want to come book now we are selling out already!!!
Most of the club moved onto Guinns which was a scream!! We get star treatment from the guinns crew! And they have a fantastic IPA on which is 8.1% ooops!
We had a few beers here before the group split me and lisa did our usual drop into new irish jims and siete tablas! The icing on the cake!!
The portions was absolutely perfect not needing to go for food after is how it should be!! So we will be running our tasting monthly its the best you will find feel free to pm for more information!! I have to say Tommy & Marina excelled in this wine tasting event and not being robbed of wine and food!! Highly recommend wine tasting event.
