We started up the day central over in guinns around 6pm to our reserved table of 21! Usual star treatment from the guinns crew always with a bit of fun along the way with staff! Couple of crafty ipa before a good meal!
We headed on down to Restaurante Colonia for our 7.30pm reservation. The table we requested wasnt set up which would have been better so we was all separated which was a bit of a pain but all in the same area at least! We requested seperate bills which they could only do separate by each table which was another down point any way we was in there so accepted this! The drinks and menus was out fast and not a long time wait for the meal which was good.
They give us a cooler for the red wine as it was a hotter than usual day and we got it to the right temperate. We ordered a mixed grill and pepper sauce to share which was amples and well priced.
The chips and vegetables where bang on and the pepper sauce was fantastic! I like the fact they asked us how we wanted the steaks and they came out as we ordered medium. Id highly recommend this as it was very good and good value for money. Everyone was very happy and we asked for the bills which we had to mess around splitting which we are strong believers that waitress should do this as thats what they are paid for so therefore we do not tip the waitress or waiter if this happens! Our bill was charged over for some reason of 10€ but the guy at the till wasnt interested in solving this which was another problem.
Its a shame about so many down points as this restaurant has very good food and prices but we can go next door and have a seamless experience.
We decided to move onto mikeys music bar as mikey just got the bar open and he took some ipa from me so we could get a craft ale after the meal.
Mikey and the crew looked after the crew good and we had a good laugh! The crew split and headed for new itish jims for last man standing!
Despite the small problems we had at the restaurant we would still recommend for couples or say four people for a large group maybe not. Absolutely fun packed nights with no problems or complaints!!!! Welcome new members your all fun fun fun!!
