Brand new burgess restaurant torremolinos so we started over in Pueblo Picasso for a burger night with the crew!! We created a nice little triangle line up in venues for the lunch club this week which was perfect!! Including ellas to try keep the group together for last man standing we have to try stop people trying to change this as its the icing on the cake and prefer to keep to the schedule not what other people prefer as we prefer variety and fun.
We started in the Cafetería Picasso around 6.30pm for cheap drinks!
Weather was a bit tricky so we was inside and a bit scattered around the restaurant!! We rounded up and headed over for our reservation in Detroit burgers for 7:30pm and the table was lined up perfectly and they set about splitting the bill and dishing out menus which they use ar codes so not so many menus to hold in hand which might be worth looking at by the restaurant if they get groups coming for meals, most our lot dont use qf codes but neither does a lot of the general public either! The orders went in and i noticed no drinks menu so how do you know what your paying but we just ordered a bottle of crianza which wasnt anything special..
this cost 30 euro! Which i didnt know till i got the bill which was very disappointingly well over priced id never pay this for a nine euro bottle of wine in any restaurant that i use!. We had a small free starter come out while we was waiting not so sure if that was a great idea chorizo type sausage doesnt go so much with a Detroit burger theme id go something more with the theme of the restaurant personally.
the food started to come out we had chicken with mustard sauce and a double Roquefort burger and fries. Id say around 6 pieces of chicken.
and the smash burger was pretty big and the fries where very good.
i noticed quite a few mistakes going along, my friend got a extra bottle of beer he never ordered and most peoples burger orders was mixed up and someone never got there burger so ordered it again! The food was pretty good and the staff are lovely i just think they need more experience for larger groups. The deco and ambience is nice.
id probably get some decent background music in there some motown or sixties to fit the theme and would definitely get drink menus so people dont get the same shock horror as i did! We paid all our bills up and headed over the road to the lunch clubs final last man standing venue as in the clubs day layout which we are battling at the moment to stick with something thats not happened in 9 years but we will stick to this. We had a great time and last man standing is a very important fun part of the day!
in the meantime lisa though she left her umbrella in the restaurant so ran across to see if it was there but irene harry had found it! It was then the restaurant indicated all the bill wasnt paid and they wanted it settling and they had cctv!!!! We was like wtf!!! We all paid… but looking at the invoice its evident its all the mistakes they made along the way of separating the bills and screwing up the orders!
I was very much shocked to get charged over 60 euros for a burger, fries, chicken and bottle of wine which im sure most other people would be but they have to find this out for themselves, they are lovely people and offer good good and a nice venue but on the downside we would not return with the lunch club.
this is by no means a bad review but just stating what they need to address to hopefully help with the future of the restaurant these are just observations.
although these few niggles we had a fantastic last man standing and made some plans with ella restaurant to return for these excellent food and service.
